Before we show you the “How” let’s first discuss the “Why”!
Why choose LinkedIn?
For any business, having a presence on social media is sure to be part of the marketing strategy and if you’re not already using it, LinkedIn should be definitely part of the plan.
Unlike some of the other mainstream platforms, LinkedIn was created with businesses and professional networking in mind right from the start.
LinkedIn provides a great opportunity to network and find the right people that you want to connect with.
With over 740 million LinkedIn users worldwide and 30 million in the UK, there is a vast opportunity to find a variety of leads, people, resources, and communities that resonate with your business goals.

How will LinkedIn benefit my business?
There is huge scope on LinkedIn for businesses and it’s not just about lead generation although it certainly can be!
You can leverage LinkedIn to find:
- Your ideal clients and customers
- Network with like-minded individuals
- The right businesses and individuals to collaborate with
- A huge variety of educational content and resources
- The best candidates for roles within your business if you are recruiting
Using your LinkedIn company page in unison with your personal profile, you can showcase your business by sharing insights about your services, products, and company values to give your audience a better understanding of what your business is all about.
How do I get started?
If you haven’t dipped your toes into setting up a LinkedIn company page yet, here are five tips to action to get you started:
- Create your company page and be sure to include a branded cover image for your business. The look of your page is important as it speaks volumes about your business. It should be in keeping with your company branding and colours which then helps to make it more easily recognisable.
- Boost your SEO search results by optimising your company page wherever possible. Make sure that all the relevant sections are fully complete and utilise the opportunity to include any keywords that will help people searching to find your business. Don’t forget to include important information like location which can also be crucial for search purposes.
- Linkedin allows company pages to follow up to 3 hashtags topics so choose them wisely so they are ones that have value to your business. Company pages don’t have the same capabilities as a personal profile page does. To help discover the most relevant topics and news, the three hashtags that your page is able to follow will allow you to interact with appropriate content that you would otherwise be unable to do from a company page.
- Add a link to your company website for anyone visiting your company page to see. You want to make it as easy as possible for anyone who visits your page to head straight to your company website and not risk losing interest because they can’t find you in an instant.
- Start posting and sharing news from your company page via your personal profile. You can use your personal profile to leverage your company page by connecting with relevant people and inviting them to like your company page.
